Desktop app

The local bridge to Discord

The extension reads the tab. The desktop app sends your status to Discord. Title, platform, and playback never leave your PC.

Version 1.4.1
Open sourceSmall footprint

Unsigned build. Windows may show a SmartScreen warning. Open More info, then Run anyway, only if you downloaded the file from this page.

What it does

  • Stays on your machine

The extension sees the tab. The desktop app talks to Discord locally. Nothing is sent to nowly.me.

  • Speaks Discord’s language

Discord only accepts this local bridge. That is why the browser extension is not enough on its own.

  • Quiet in the background

It is small, has no window to babysit, and only runs so your status can update.

Install it

  1. 01

    Download the right file

Use the installer for your system. The portable archive is there if you prefer not to run a setup wizard.

  2. 02

    Open the downloaded file

Run the app and follow the setup. On Windows, read the SmartScreen note if a protection prompt appears.

  3. 03

    Install a presence

From the library, add something like YouTube to check that the extension and the desktop app talk to each other.

    Open the library
  4. 04

    Check Discord

Keep the Discord desktop app open, start a supported site, then check that your status updates.
