Canary is the unpacked build we ship to testers. It moves faster than the stores, and it can break.

Download for Chrome

Chrome cannot install this from the store. You load the unzipped folder yourself.

Keep the store build for daily use. Canary can sit next to it: they use different extension IDs.

Before you install

Unstable on purpose
These zips track the latest extension work. Features can land, change, or disappear without a store review.
No store updates
The browser will not auto-update Canary. When a new zip is published, download it again and reload the build.
Keep the folder
The unpacked or temporary load points at a directory on disk. If you delete or move it, the extension disappears.

Download and unzip
Save the zip, then extract it to a folder you will not throw away after a cleanup.

Open chrome://extensions
Paste that address in the tab bar. Turn on Developer mode in the top right.

Load unpacked
Choose the extracted folder, not the zip. You should see Nowly Canary in the list.

Reload after a new zip
Replace the folder contents with the new build, then hit Reload on the extension card.
